2012 Season Ends With A Flourish

September 13 brought the 2012 Thursday Night Lights racing season to a close with a flurry of fast racing.  The All City King of the Sprints, Penn Cycle Points Race and Women's Scratch Race series were all decided last Thursday.  Brandon Krawczyk (Revoloution Cycles/Twin Six) rode his 2nd place finish in the Sprint final to edge Dan Currell (Bianchi/Grand Performance) by just a single point in the season-long All City King of the Sprints.  Krawczyk also won a hotly contested Penn Cycle Points Race to maintain his lead in that season-long series.

Despite not placing in the money during Thursday's Scratch Race, Linsey Hamilton (Speedfix/Zubaz) maintained her leadership of the Women's Scratch Race Series.  She had previously secured the top spot in the Queen of the Sprints competition, as well.

Hamilton, Krawczyk Dominate 2012 TROY Competition

With tremendous consistency throughout the 2012 Thursday Night Lights season, Linsey Hamilton and Brandon Krawczyk secured the top spot in the Track Rider of the Year competition.

Hamilton won 8 of the 13 meetings this season on her way to 74 points and the top spot on the podium.  Her TROY victory gave her the top spot in all three of the season-long competitions for women.  In second place, Abby Ruess (Bianchi/Grand Performance) secured 54 points.  Terra James (Sweet n' Salty), claimed the remaining podium place with 45 points, edging Megan Kelly (Omnium) by a single point.

Krawczyk won seven events this summer on the way to a 22 point victory in the men's TROY competition.  In second, Dan Currell won 3 Thursday Night events and took 2nd twice.  Last year's TROY, Andy Kruse (Speedfix/Zubaz), fell just 2 points short of Currell's tally to take the final podium place.
